Mr Gormack is a New Zealand-trained orthopaedic surgeon, educated at the University of Auckland Medical School and completing orthopaedic training in 2014. He was appointed Orthopaedic Consultant at Middlemore Hospital in 2017, where he treats complex trauma alongside his private practice in hip and knee surgery.
Following his FRACS he completed three international fellowships — knee and shoulder reconstruction at the Perth Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, young adult hip preservation and complex arthroplasty at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital London, and advanced hip replacement, revision and arthroscopic surgery at Southmead Hospital Bristol.
He is an Editorial Board Member of the Hip International journal, was awarded the Gordon Gordon Taylor Prize as the top FRACS candidate in 2007, and the President's Prize for Best Orthopaedic Trainee in New Zealand in 2014.
