The menisci are the C-shaped cartilage shock-absorbers inside the knee. Tears can be traumatic or degenerative and may cause locking, catching and swelling.
Read condition guideThe anterior cruciate ligament prevents excessive sliding of the tibia on the femur. Tears typically occur with a twisting injury and cause instability.
